Neil Copeland Photography, Inc. is a family owned business that has been in continuous operation since the mid-1970’s, first as MNC PhotoGraphics, then MNC PhotoWorks, later as Neil Copeland Photography, and finally, after incorporating in 1994, as Neil Copeland Photography, Inc.
We began to concentrate on Team & Individual Sports and Event photography in the mid-1980’s, transitioning from analog film into digital photography in 1999. Since there were very few professional labs at the time that could process high volume digital image packages, we purchased our own digital printing lab in 2001. This was done so we could control our quality and service times. We utilized a few quality vendors for some of the specialty items we offer, but the majority of photos and packages were custom printed in our own digital lab. We also printed work for other sports photography companies for many years at Lightbender Digital Pro Lab in Lula. During the next eleven years, many other digital labs became available that could more efficiently handle this work, so we closed down Lightbender Lab in the summer of 2012 to concentrate more on photography and less on printing.
Because of our expertise and new digital printing technology, we also developed the capability to provide digital prints at on-site events such as Proms, Daddy-Daughter dances, and Family and Class reunions. We were doing both shooting and printing at the event so participants could take home high-quality images home the same day.
We have a wealth of photographic training and experience behind us (see About the Crew for details), and our staff, most of whom are family members, have worked with us for over ten years. Since we have specialized in T&I Sports and Event photography for over 30 years, we’ve developed specialty equipment and systems to efficiently organize a Photo Day session. We have the know-how to get the job done well, whether we are shooting one or a hundred teams a day or more than a hundred couples at a dance. We specialize in volume portrait and group photography, and we’re good at what we do.
During the fall sports season, for instance, we provide a portable solution to shooting big football teams and marching bands with our trailer-mounted group posing risers. We have two different size units, one for high school size teams up to 150 players and coaches (which has also been used by the Atlanta Falcons for their official team photo for more than 20 years and other NFL teams at a couple of Super Bowls), and a smaller unit for youth league size teams. These trailer sets can be placed in any convenient outdoor location, with setup and breakdown taking only a few minutes. These risers are much better alternatives to the standard sit down shots you see taken in regular stadium seats and many of the composite group photos seen lately.
Neil Copeland Photography, Inc. has provided photo services to a number of organizations over the years, ranging in size from small school booster clubs to large municipal recreation departments. We are happy to handle the small, one or two team organizations as well as the larger ones and you’ll get the same great service and products with either. Throughout the year we provide other photographic services such as Family and Senior portraits, Corporate Headshots, Real Estate and other commercial work, and even shoot an occasional wedding every now and then.
